After all guests have entered and been seated, the Bailiff, the Clerk, the Master of the Rolls and the Judge will gather at the left side of the cocktail room as one faces the Ballroom. Behind the Judge, the Linnets (lead by the Chief Linnet) will form in two lines, followed by the Serjeants who will also form in two lines. (Designated older Serjeants will enter separately.)

Upon the signal from the Chairman of the Dinner Committee, the trombones will sound separately for the entrance of

the Bailiff
the Clerk
the Master of the Rolls
the Judge, and finally
the Serjeants lead by the Linnets singing the Welcome Song.

The Chief Linnet, will be responsible for assembling and keeping the Serjeants quiet and in pairs pending their entrance into the Ballroom. He will lead the singing of the Welcome Song.

The Serjeants will march into the Ballroom in pairs, turning right into the main aisle up to the Judge's Bench and will turn and face each other. After singing the Welcome Song, the Serjeants will face the flag (on a stand adjacent to the Judge's Bench) and sing the Star Spangled Banner.

At the request of the Judge, the Bailiff will open the Court, and the Grand Assize will be underway.
