There was an uproar on the floor of the Hermit Club last Saturday when Sjt. Jeanne "Mean Jean" Rickert protested the canceling of the November 26 Court Session. Judge Ziegler has been on the defensive regarding his decision to hold Court during the Michigan/OSU game while canceling the Nov. 26 session to allow Serjeants to attend Polka Weekend on Public Square. Several Serjeants said Rickert crossed the line when she claimed "a Serjeant asked me to send a message to the Judge: Cowards cancel for polka." Members of the Ziegler Court reacted by producing an event list that purportedly showed Rickert herself as a participant in the all-night polka dancing contest scheduled to begin Nov. 25. "That’s Renkert, not Rickert" Mean Jean claimed. As an image of Sjt. Renkert polka-ing in lederhosen for 12 hours formed in the minds of Serjeants present, several fainted, and others immediately praised Judge Z for ensuring that no Serjeant need be anywhere near Public Square on November 26. Asked if he had any comment, Judge Z sated, "Yes." |
